Being in addiction or suffering from PTSD. anxiety, depression, and/or many other calamities can be overwhelming.
If you’re anything like me, it can feel extremely lonely and isolating.
You don’t have to battle it alone. For so many years, I struggled in silence because I felt like my problems were deserved, self-created, and too much for others. I used alcohol as a means to numb myself from it all. When I finally made the decision that that wasn’t the life I wanted for myself, I got help.
There are so many resources available, and here, I will share the ones I leaned on the most.
PODCASTS:
Recovery Elevator
Paul Churchill authored Alcohol is Shit, a book that I found on Audible years ago. It’s great for recovery. He also runs his own podcast where he drops pearls of wisdom about addiction. As a long-time listener, I was a guest on his show and shared parts of my story.
That Sober Guy Podcast
Shane Ramer is a dad from California who battled alcoholism for years and has been sober for over a decade. I found this podcast early on in my sobriety journey and it helped a lot. He has some great guests on the show who share their stories and keys to their recovery.
